South Africa

Happy Saturday Everyone!

I know it’s been almost a month since my last blog post.  Sorry for the long hiatus!  I returned from my trip to South Africa two weeks ago and I spent that time catching up with friends and work.  I even got to see Hamilton, while it was in Charlotte and it’s one of the best musicals I’ve ever seen.  I definitely recommend seeing it if it comes to a city near you!

So, South Africa was honestly the best vacation I’ve ever taken.  I spent my time primarily in Johannesburg and Cape Town and got to do a whole lot like going on a safari, learning more about Nelson Mandela and Apartheid, saw where the Atlantic and Pacific Ocean meet and ate waaaay too much food.  I completely fell in love with the country and I can’t wait to go back!  Today’s blog post is going to be different, in the sense that I’m going to feature 5 of my favorite outfits that I wore during my vacation.

The first outfit is what I wore to my cousin’s wedding in Johannesburg, which was the primary reason for going to South Africa.  It’s an ankara skirt and blouse that I paired with long pink tassel earrings, a cream clutch purse and flowered heels.

The second outfit is what I wore the first day I arrived in Johannesburg.  It’s black overalls (similar overalls), with a pink velvet t-shirt.  I paired the outfit with a pink headband, a multicolored crossbody bag (similar bag) and silver sneakers.

The next two photos actually feature two different outfits, but utilize similar items.  The first photo is what I wore to Mandela Square.  It’s a patchwork denim jacket (similar jacket) layered over a white tank and paired with black jeans and Vans sneakers.  The next photo is what I wore to a cultural village and safari.  It features the same denim jacket and sneakers but with a black tank and checkered pants (similar pants).

The third outfit is what I wore my first day out in Cape Town.  I have an orange and white blazer layered over a white tank and paired with black jeans.  I also have a beaded necklace and silver metallic sneakers.

And the final outfit is what I wore on my last day in Cape Town.  I have a floral orange kimono (similar kimono) layered over a white t-shirt and paired with blue jeans.  For shoes, I have silver metallic sneakers.

Below are additional photos of the beautiful landscape and scenery in South Africa!
